My experience about my GUNDU

Now let me explain you my experience about my GUNDU. As it was my last day with my hair, i gave it a wash once in morning and also gave a hot oil massage in the evening. Once it was dry, I wore a nice saree and went to a nearest photoshop and took photo - both passport size and post card size with my hair on my front. After that i had to attend my fren´ s sister marriage reception for which all my frens came. So i attended it and told my frens that i´ m going to shave my head tonight. They just laughed and didn´ t believe me. TWO OF MY FRENS HAD A BET WITH ME THAT THEY WOULD ALSO SHAVE THEIR HEAD IF I SHAVE MINE. I invited all my frens for lunch tomorrow, so that they would be astonished to see my Shining Gundu. As it was nearing 9, i bid adieu from them as my barber asked me to visit his saloon(I spoke to barber previously to come to my home and shave, as i have hair upto my thighs he asked me to come to saloon at night before closing). I thought of changing my dress before shaving, but as time wasn´ t there, I went in saree itself.


I reached there by 9.10pm. He was eagerly waiting for me. As he saw me in saree he dropped his jaw and asked me whether have i come for headshave really. I replied yes in a slight tone as i got tensed once i entered the saloon. Then he pulled down the screen on the glass door so that no one sees that i´ m doing head shave in men´ s saloon.

Then he asked me to sit in the rolling chair comfortably. I asked him whether do i need to untie my plaited hair. He smilingly said no, by filling water in the sprayer. Later he brought a black lengthy cloth and tied it on my neck covering my clothes and body.

By 9.15pm, he untied my plaited hair and combed it for 5mins with hair brush. Then he came back and sneaked his fingers into my scalp and massaged in a rolling manner for few mins. Then he took the sprayer and sprayed water on my front side of hair above my forehead. Later he sprayed on the right side and left side by taking sprayer iinside my hairs and atlast finished it at the back. he sprayed for more than 2mins and quickly sprayed almost half litre of water.

Then again he started dabbing my head with his hand and massaged my head. I was really excited to experience this. I was smiling and he asked me why - I said i liked this style of massaging. Then he took hairbrush and brushed the hair from front to back. he didnt make partition of hair and didn´ t put a knot in the hair. then he made a hair bun on my head and sprayed some more water on the hairbun. When i asked him why, he said that it would be irritating for you if the hair is not softened before shaving. Then he took a new razor and fixed a new blade in it.

The moment he took the razor in his hand. there was some sadness as i am going to loose my lengthy hair and there was some eagerness to feel the experience of GUNDU. By 9.30pm, He untied the bun and turned the chair so that i dont see the mirror. Then he kept the razor on my forehead and asked me to close my eyes if i´ m afraid or frightened. I said no in a loud voice. Immediately he started to scrap the razor from front of my head to back. then he shifted on to the right and left side by side. I was really sad cum excited when long hair fell on the cloth. Everytime the razor scraped my head i liked that scrapping sound. i felt that my head was kept inside a freezer of the fridge as i felt very chill while shaving. Soon i felt some weight has been reduced from my head. by 9.40pm, i thought everything got over. Then he rubbed his hand on my head and i asked him whether is it over. he said no. Then he took shaving gel(some kind of stuff from GILLETTE) and applied it on my scalp. Then he changed the blade and now he scraped it in the opposite direction(from back to front). Later he completed by scrapping it on my cheeks on the face. Then he took the cloth that was tied to my neck and rubbed my GUNDU and face with a towel. Now he rolled the chair so that i could see my new GUNDU face. I was really flabbergasted to see my new face and i really liked it. As i was wearing saree, i really liked it to pose bald head in saree. Then after paying him, i came home. He asked me to cover my GUNDU with saree´ s pallu.


Fortunately no one saw me as the streets were empty by 9.55pm, so i didnt cover my GUNDU with saree´ s pallu. I enjoyed the chill air that passed my head. My mum saw and she hugged me saying that i looked pretty in saree with head shave. She asked me to go to coll in sarees till hair grows for 2inches. I said YES happily. For my excitement, she said that the barber would come and shave me once in 3 days for the next 10 days and also asked me to shave it to SUPER SMOOTH SHINING again on the previous day of coll reopening.

Vidya had a vow

My friend Vidya had a vow to shave her head in Tirumala. She told to give her company in her trip. One day she requested me to shave my head also along with her. I could answer her. At last she convinced me. This was my first head shave from my childhood. I wanted to get this new experience.

I and my friend Vidya started on 15/12/09 from Hyderabad. next day morning we reached Tirumala. We had arranged cottage accommodation for us in advance. So we went straight to the cottage. I had been looking forward to this experience for a long time and I wanted to get tonsured as soon as possible. So I explored the possibility of going to the Kalyanakatta right away and getting tonsured. Reluctantly, I had to postpone the idea till the next day because we were very tired.


I could hardly sleep through the night. I was excited at the thought of the straight razor playing on my head early next day! I was wide awake by 4 am. After brushing our teeth, my friend asked me to get ready. Then my friend without talking anything got ready. Then I wore a salwar kameez. We left for the Kalyanakatta by around 6 am. 

There was a big crowd in front of the Kalyanakatta entrance and I thought this was going to take awhile. But as soon as we got into the Q, we moved up front quite quickly. We went to next step there a man giving half blades to everyone who got the tokens. He asked me are for gundu as I am looking posh. I felt some shy and told yes, and then he gave me a half blade 
After taking the token and blade for the tonsure, we entered the hall. There were a lot of barbers doing their stuff. I got into one line. There were around 5-6 people in front of me. That meant around 15-20 minutes wait. I was keenly observing the tonsuring of the people in front of me and my excitement mounted.

First my friend sat in front of him. I concentrated on my friend’s tonsure. With a smile she bent her head to the barber offering her wet bob cut hairs with some brown in it. He started from the front and the first cut brought a kind of joy in her face which is difficult to forget. Then my friend shaved their heads my friend was looking so beautiful. She simply laughed at me. 


I was nervous because next was my turn. Then I sat in front of him and I covered my laps with towels that dress would not spoil. Like others, he wetted my waist length hair with a mug of water and massaged it vigorously for a minute and everything was very new to me. He tied my hair into two loose knots on both sides. My head now was totally wet with water and water droplets were falling on my shoulders, back, neck and on the towel below. I could see nothing but the ground. I was shivering with cold water. He put the new blade he had collected from me (issued at the counter) into his razor, bent my head fully down and made the first scrape at my nape. Oh! What a sensation! I could hear the scrape-scrape on the back of my head - top to bottom. Immediately, I could feel the coolness of the air on my scalp. I could feel wet tufts of my hair falling on my back and neck. In one minute, the back of my head was totally bald! The barber lifted my head slightly and adjusted it to get the correct angle so that he could start on the front. He started from the top of my head towards the front...scrape-scrape....Then he drew a patch from the crown to my forehead. Then he tilted my head to my left and shaved off the hair on my right. I could see Vidya who also bald smiling at my half tonsured head. I also smiled at her. He then started shaving my left side. He passed the blade all over once again making my head very smooth. 

I got up caressing my bald head with both hands. I gave the barber Rs.10 extra for shaving me smooth. He was happy and offered me a mirror to see. I was anxious to see my face and when I saw it I was shocked to recognize myself. I was so different, a totally new bald look. Then I removed all the hair on my legs and touched my head for a while. We reached the guest house. I immediately ran in front of the mirror to see how I look. I had seen me in mirror my look was totally changed in GUNDU. But nothing can be done now, so I consoled myself. Vidya consoled me saying that I’ve given my hair to god and so there is nothing to feel ugly.

Later during bath I rubbed my hands all over the rough and freshly shave scalp. It’s a very nice experience!! Later after drying the scalp I applied some sandal to keep my scalp cool. It really kept me cool from that rough shaving. Later in the day I applied coconut oil all over to make my scalp smooth. I started counting days for that day itself eager to wear a pony. 
Next day we had a good darshan of the lord. I prayed the lord that because u has taken my beautiful, long and smooth hair u should take care of me in troubles of life.

I couldnt sleep on friday night bec of the thought that i will be clean shaved and all my hair would go on saturday. I cried for almost an hour, then i spent some time infront of the mirror brushing my hair, playing with my hair, did some hair styles. But finally slept crying and holding my hair.

sagarika Head Shave

Hai friends this is sagarika.Actually we planned on 30th April to tpt and reached there on 1st morning and went up hill and took rest for some time and got fresh and wear new dress as it is my first marriage day went around for some time and finished lunch then the time came for our head shave ,tension started in my mind. My hand going around my hair. my hubby want to start quick for shaving but I was making late to spend some time with my long hair at that time I was opening my tail and trying different types of tails. My hubby taken photos of different styles of my tail and finally i prepared nice knot and started to kalyanakatta for head shave. While on the way to kalyana katta I bought some flowers and wound around my knot. Then my hubby took some photos with hair and flowers and he told with in one hour no hair and flowers by holding my head and knot. My tension got increased, he started walking fast .finally we entered into the q line.


After some waiting we went to the tokens counter. We got two different tokens for ladies and gents. We went to next step there a man giving half blades to every one who got the tokens. he asked me are for gundu as I am looking posh. I felt some shy and told yes, then he gave me a half blade and we preceded to gents tonsure hall first. There my hubby stands in his q and waiting for his turn by wetting his head. in the mean while I was watching around any ladies shaving their heads. I didn’t saw any one my tension increasing .mean while my hubby finished shaving I cleaned his head with my chunni and touched it is very smooth. We were preceded to ladies hall for my turn. There were lady barbers. So many ladies are shaving their heads. I stood my q line and watching how they shave. Just before me one college going girl with long hair like me wetting her head for head shave.

She sat down and the barber divided her hair into two parts and prepared two loose side knots and pored some water and rubbed her head, changed the blade in the straight razor and bent the girls head and started on the center of the head in the first stroke a small patch on the head and the size increasing with time. After 3 mts half head completed on knot fell on her lap. The girl took her hair and put it down. In the next 3 mts total head completed .she get up with smile touching her freshly shaved head. While watching iam free from tension curious about the shaving as soon as the girl got up tension started as the barber asked me to open my hair and wet. I removed flowers and gave to my hubby and he stood near me and I wet my hair. I sit before bending my head she rubbed my head by poring some water and prepared two knots. Then I asked for three cuts of hair to drop in hundi as I have ove. She gave me three cuts of hair. Then I got confused weather to shave or not. And finally decided to get up with out shaving.

As I am thinking the barber started first stroke on my crown head. I felt some thing strange with the first stroke. Then I under stood that I should get shaved completely. Tears came out. as the razor moving on my head my hair hanging over knot. After 3 minutes one knot fell on my lap. Tears automatically stopped. And in another 3 minutes second fell. Now I am bald. My hubby asked the barber to shave once again, but I refused and got up and feel so much shy and ran to my hubby covered my head with chunny.slowly my hubby take off the chunni and watched my bald head for un cut hair and he somoothly rubbed my head. Then I felt happy but very shy. We went back to room for bath. As there is little uncut hair on my neck my hubby want to shave it. In the room he once again. I sat down before him bending my gundu he started shaving once again the total head and reverse shaving once again for half an hour. Then I touched my gundu first time it was very smooth and watched in the mirror it was nice bald head. My hubby asked me to shave his head also smooth. After his shave we both got bath and wear traditional dresses and got chandan paste on our gundus and namas on our four heads went for darshan. It was a good experience. After return back we shaved our heads 3 times at home. Now I like smooth gundu very much.

Tirulama Head Shave

On 12th September night we reached to Tirupati and taken one room for taking rest. On Tuesday morning we started at 04:00 from tirupati and reached to Alipiri at 04:30 and started walking to Tirulama at 04:45 and reached to Tirumala at 11:15 a.m. Immediately we reached to Tirumala we visited to small Kalyanakatta which is nearby to luggage counter to build up the courage. There we saw one daughter and mother who are having very lengthy hair (upto buttock length) where the mother is encouraging her child (9 - 10 years) to shave her head (jet black thick buttock length) but the daughter is denying.At last the mother succeeded in 
convincing her daughter, she wet her daughter's hair and had her sat before the barber.


The barber put two small mugs of water onto the head of the daughter and changed the blade in the straight razor, the barber started shaving the head of the daughter I was quiet anxious to see that, in the meanwhile the mother is also loosens her plant (very lengthy) and started wetting her head, but in the meanwhile one barber came towards us and asked to shave but we denied since we had to take a room and keep our luggage. Later we collected our luggage, taken one room (Anjanadri) at CRO and went to room. After we occupied the room, we took 1/2 hour rest and changed our clothes (casuals) and went to have some tiffin, since morning we do not have any thing. After we finished the tiffin we went to Kalyanakatta (the bigger one) Ofcourse the same was closed and and opened a new one which is marvellous.

We deposited our chappals in the stand at the Kalyanakatta and followed in the line (the time was 01:30 p.m.) fortunately no one was there. When we enter at the counter the employee at the counter asked us "She is is also shaving?" (Me) my hubby said that yes, then he gave two big tickets and one small ticket, when we show those tickets at the other counter that guy gave 3 half blades (one each for us) first the turn of our kid (she has not denied) next the turn of my hubby (he is an hair enthusiast and felt much happy while he shaves his beard, mustaches and finally head, my hubby said that shave by applying some force, since he has dandruff, then the barber said don't worry I do like that and I'll also shave you twice to remove the dandruff. (I wanted to take photographs of the head shaves of my kid and my hubby) but as per the new system the photograph and videography is not allowed hence could not managed to take.

Next it was my turn. My hubby said that have a sit and he explained the barber about the pimple on my head by removing part of my hair, the barber understood and wetted my hair by pouring two small mugs of water. He bent my head towards him and parted in two parts and asked me to say Govinda, I said and started feeling nervour. My hubby gave much courage from my back by standing. The barber started at the mid part of my head and gave a lengthy stroke, I guess it was almost munished upto my nape, and 4 more strokes my back part was finished and become whitish. My hubby managed to take 3 photos by requesting the barber, the barber said that take one more photograph by turning my head (partly shaved) finally the barber shaved entire my hair, 


I felt much happy once I saw my hair on my lap. My hubby told the barber to shave once again, the barber did. Once I get up from the barber, my hubby hugged me and kissed on my bald head, it was quiet whitish. Then at the time we come back from Kesakandanasala one man stood and applying Chandan, my hubby, kid and me applied chandan on our heads it was so cold and the experience was unexplainable. When we come out from Kesakandanasala one old man sat to put Govindanamam, all of we put govindanamam and had a bath at our room and proceeded for Darshan.

The darshan was very very good, I was at loss of words to express my true feelings, we did darshan on Wednesday also.

Sweta was a young cute girl of 17-18. She was living in Berhmpur, with her family. She passed out 12th from her school and wanted to study engineering. As there was no good college nearby her house, she got admission in Bolangir. This town was far away from her native. Though her parents told to stay here only and complete her graduation, she didn’t listen. This was a turning point in her life…


Sweta is fair girl, not so much of beautiful, but she is good in looks, behaviour and has a mature body. One thing that will attract everyone is her hair. Her hair was very long. As she was living in village, it is obvious, but she had maintained it very well. Her hair hung down up to her waist. Most of the time she kept it in a braid or bun, as keeping it open was considered uncultured and bad in her society. She had kept her hair in well condition. As the college was far away from her home, she stayed in college hostel along with her 2 roommates. Among the 3 friends she is very attractive, every one praises her hair. In college she maintains her hair in a braid, but in hostel she kept it in open, or tied with a single hair band. She studied well in the college. At first she enjoyed hostel life, with her new friends, new atmosphere. She thought hostel life is very good, and thought staying in home is rather boring. But after 3-4 days she knew hostel life is enjoyable and tolerable too. The senior students always did ragging to all the fresh hostel students. The always make fun at them by humiliating them. But no one uttered a single objection. If anyone tried to tell this to college authorities they didn’t respond rather they supported ragging and told that ragging is used for your betterment, you will be confident in future. One day Sweta with her friends were going to their class they were stopped by the seniors. They told to introduce each, and then started teasing them. One of them told to dance in front of them in a song. After then they misbehaved. Sweta finally didn’t tolerate any more and spoke out “you all are not humans. You are only the wastages of your parents. You come here to waste your time, our time and waste your parents money. You are just bitches." Nita, one of the gang members, just didn’t tolerate this saying and slapped on her face. Sweta shouted there and a group of fresher were gathered there. As the seniors are in 5-6 members and were hence outnumbered they are obliged to leave that place.

That day Nita told her gang members, “This was not good what that silly girl did." Everyone agreed with her and she called her boy partners Ravi and Ashok and. Nita along with her 6 members decided to take revenge and give Sweta a punishment to remember forever. That night they planned all this and they made sure that they will do this after 3 days, because after 3 days college is closed. Ravi made 2 movie tickets for Sweta’s roommates and told them individually to move on that day and gave them some money also to spend in malls. They agreed.

As per the planning, on that day both of the roommates of Sweta left her. Now she was alone. She was doing her college assignment. After doing her assignment she combed her hair, she opened her hair and combed it very nicely. Just then she heard knock on her door. She opened and just to her astonishment, a gang member of Nita, Sujata was there. She told her politely that she felt guilty what she did to her and now wants friendship with her. Sweta agreed with her. Sujata asked her to move out because both of them are alone in their rooms. Sweta told just to wait and would be ready in 5 minutes, but Sujata insisted, “Nothing is bad with this dressing, just let’s go". So sweta went out with her hair open. Sujata took Sweta out of the college campus and made her way to a lonely place. Sweta told her to return back as there was too dark and she was afraid of. But sujata told not to worry; they are going to her another friend’s home. As they will be 3, there will b no problem further. They reached Nita’s home. Sweta didn’t know it was Nita’s house. Sujata asked her to come in. They walked into the house. Sujata turned on the lights and took her to a room where the door was locked from inside. Sujata knocked the door, Ashok opened the door and just then Sujata pushed Sweta into the room, and the Ashok again locked the door. Now Sweta looked up to see what was going on, and to her shock Nita, with her gang members and Ravi, Ashok were there. Ashok slapped on Sweta’s face and she fell on the bed leaning forward. Then he along with Ravi tied her hands and knelt down.

Nita came in front of her and shouted, “you BITCH.... you have done a great mistake, you insulted me and my friends in front of juniors..... So u must get your punishment now here’. She told Ravi to take off her clothes and to make her naked in front of all. She was totally naked now and shivering and thinking what is going to happen with her. “I think your hair is your pride... so u must get punishment through hair only". One of her friends holds all her hair from the back and swirled it in the air....and says, “Wow such a lovely hair"... suddenly Sweta heard someone brought a leather bag and opening it and taking out some equipment. As this was going on at her back side, so she couldn’t see actually. Now Nita came in front of her and said “make her hair as she does usually". Sweta always keeps her hair in braid, so one of the gang members made up her hair in braid. Everyone touched her hair, it was so silky and smooth... suddenly Nita said, “Enjoy the last moments with your beautiful hair bitch as it will be no more after some time." Sweta was shocked... first of all she was tied and naked, so she couldn’t resist, only shouted. Ravi told, “Its vain dear as there is no one in this house and this house is far-far away from local area." Suddenly she felt some one hold her hair braid from the back, again heard some snipping sounds like Snip, snip.... she thought, ‘ Oh my god, it was a huge pair of scissors’. She felt the scissors crossed in between her hair right at the base,’ oh god, she was going to hack the braid fully... ‘

Sweta pleaded. “Please don’t do this... I beg all of you." Tears rolled down her face. Ashok said, “It’s too late baby, you must get your punishment". She cried... But just then the scissors started moving inside her hair. A sound like ScccccRRRRuuuunnnccccch........ SSccccrrrruunnncch....... heard... the hair was very thick indeed. But finally the scissors was victorious and cut down that braid... Nita hold that braid and showed it to Sweta... “Bitch, look at your braid, isn’t this, your pride... it’s gone now......" Sweta begged in a trembling voice “please leave me now"... Nita said “do u think u are done.., no bitch, wait, this is going to be exciting further". Sweta was shocked and thought what are they going to do now, what is left still??? She then heard something was plugged in and the switch was made ON. “HMMMMMMMMM .........................MMMM" she was terrified now. It was an electric clipper... Nita showed it to her. Sweta pleaded, “Oh my god, there is no guard, and it is in zero position. Please don’t do that, please........." but No one was there to listen to her. Nita hold that clipper, bent down Sweta’s head and placed that at the back of her head and lifted it up to the upper part... Thuds of hair rolled down. She made pass after pass, again hairs fall off... all gathered on her shoulders, some fall on the ground... Sweta was just crying... she was miserable... a bald patch appeared on her head... Then Nita moved it to right side... More hairs fell and gathered. Then to her left... Again more hairs fell. At last Nita made a move totally over her head, and stopped. There was mound of hair in front of sweta, all fell on the ground. Some were on his shoulders; on her nipples... sweta was still crying... she was totally bald now. Fully naked, head shaved. Nita along with her friends cheered... As if they had won a battle.... they teased her, they laughed at her. Suddenly one of them said “let’s make it smooth"... “Wow, that’s a good idea"... sweta just thought she is totally bald. What are they going to do now?? She got her answer quickly. They had brought straight razor and shaving cream..!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cream was applied on her head... then one of Nita’s friends took the razor and made passes on her head, tssssshhhhkk.... tttttsssshhhhkkkkkk... they scraped the razor on her head and removed the foam. Within 2 minutes, she was done. Now sweta looked like born baby. Smooth head, fully naked... Her head looked like cue ball. Everyone touched her head.

Now Nita said “at, last bitch got her punishment... Wow". Again Nita said “don’t dare to tell this anybody"... Ravi showed her a video; it was of her naked head shave and said, “If u try to tell this to anybody, I will send this video to internet... and u know what happens when this will be spread in whole the world... so beware of it..."

Then Nita told. “I would drop you to your hostel on my car, come". Sweta dressed and then left with Sweta. On the whole way she was weeping, now Nita tried to console her, and said, “It’s over dear, stop crying, and it will grow again". Sweta was not responding. After they get to her block, she escorted Sweta to her room. Every fresher who saw her were scared and surprised seeing her condition. Nita pushed her to her bed and sat on the chair beside it. She said, “Sweta, I have to tell something". Sweta didn’t respond. Nita shouted, Sweta responded, “yes". Nita said, “You are very lucky girl, we can become very good friends" and left the room. Sweta was completely baffled now and fall asleep weeping and weeping.

Next day she was more surprised to get as much respect as a 3rd year senior student get from a fresher. She was further surprised when seniors gave her respect as she was one of them. She discovered that it was all because of Nita. She became good friend with Nita and a member of her gang. Later one day she gets to know that, Nita had also suffered same fate as she has previous evening, in case of Nita even her pubic hairs were shaven off. Then Nita said, “Now you know why you are lucky dear"

Renuka roy is a journalist with long and lustrous hair. She married other co employee. It's a love marriage she settled in Delhi. She loves her long hair and she proud her hair is the asset and the main beauty. After marriage also she is working. Everything went fine. 

After 1 year she delivered a baby boy. She and her hubby very happy for the child, also it's normal delivery. After 3 days she discharge from hospital. But her body is still weak. So she want to continue the bed rest for more than a week. Her hubby also took care. Because both of the parents are not in india. So her hubby took a week leave and he cares wife and the child. After 1 week she is coming normal, but the day her hubby's uncle passed away in london. They got the news from london both of them got worried about the sad news. But after 2 days they become normal. Then Renuka started to discuss with his hubby for her vow to tirupathi. Because it's already they planned, if she delivered a baby boy with she will shave her head at tirupathi with in 1 month. if it's a baby girl her hubby will shave his head tirupathi. Because she likes boy, and her hubby likes girl baby. But her hubby said, "Renu that's correct, but now my uncle is passed away, so we shouldn't go to temple for this 1 year. So next year you can shave your head at tirupathi, if you want I will also join. Then Renuka said ok, anyway we will not do anything for this situation, so my hair will stay for next 1 year, will shave both of them heads next year at tirumala." Her hubby also accepted this.

Next day morning her neighbor came to their house and he asking about baby's health and Renuka's health. Her name is Lakshmi, she is also south indian. She is 30 years of age. After the some discussion she informed she is going to tirupathi by next 2 days that is coming saturday night. If Renu's family want to do any pooja in tirupathi she will do it behalf of their family. Renuka said nothing aunty, actually I planned to shave my head at tirumala after my delivery but his uncle got passed away so this year I will not do anything like temple related, but I will give some money please put it in temple hundi, anyway next year we both will shave their heads at tirumala. Then lakshmi replied I have other idea Renu, if you want you can think about this, Renu questioned to lakshmi "What idea aunty", she replied, per your statement you will not going to any temples for the whole year that's correct, we are also following these kind of formalities, but you can shave your head and given to me I will put it in tirupathi when I reach. Renu surprised her idea, "Aunty you are correct, but where will I go and shave my head?", lakshmi replied, "Renu you can go to some parlor and shave your head and bring some hair or whole hair, and given to me any way my hubby and me also shave both their heads this time, so I will put it in the kalyanakatta. Renu and her hubby happy about Lakshmi aunty's idea. So both of them accepted, then Renu replied " Aunty I thought my hair will stay for next 1 year but god decided whatever happened I should shave my head so that only you told about your trip and your view of idea". Lakshmi said "Yes tirupathi is special place, if you prayed something you should to finish the vow". Then Renu said, aunty I will shave my head coming saturday morning, and I will given to you. She also accepted.


Satruday morning, Renuka is ready for her tonsure, her hubby said, can I shave my head today, she said no need, this is only for me, next year if you want you can shave. Her hubby said ok. And they are calling lakshmi for sometime to take care of their child, they will be back after 1 hour. The baby is sleeping well, anyway he will wakeup after 2 hours, before that they will come. So lakshmi said ok for that. Then both of them started to parlor, and they reached at 11 am morning. It's a unisex saloon (male and female) In the receptionist said madam can you please wait for some time, because 3 of them is waiting before you. Renu said ok. And then the receptionst asking for the purpose of the visit, that is facial, haircut, massage, her hubby said headshave. She noted, and then she questioned, madam you want any haircut, Renuka smiled and replied, headshave is for me only not for my husband. Receptionist said, sorry mam, then she informed to the beautician about this through intercom. After Renuka 1 young girl and 2 male are waiting. After the 15 mins receptionist called renuka, mam you can go, then renuka and her hubby going inside the parlor, and the beautician said welcome mam, please take your seat, sir you can also sit this sofa. So Renu went and sat the haircutting chair, and her hubby sat behind her the sofa. 

Beautician covered her body with big cloth, and Renuka touch her hair to remove the clip, but the beautician said, no problem mam I will do it you can sit relaxly. Then renu sat normally. Then the beautician asked, mam want a headshave? renuka said yes, please, then the beautician comb her long hair, and said your hair is beautiful, why you want to shave, renuka said it's a vow, so please shave me and give some hair to me. She said ok. Then she sprayed water to wet her hair, by the time the girl and 1 boy came to the room, the girl is coming for facial, she had a mid back hair, and the guy is coming for haircut. Then the beautician take the scissor, and chopped her hair unto her neck and she is now bobcut, again she chop her hair front and back, the one standing next to her freaked out and asked her what the hell she was doing. Beautician replied to the guy, headshave. The guy shocked and he had no words, by the times beautician chopped all of Renuka's hair, her hubby also watching all this process. She is now military crew cut, then the beautician pour some more water in her head and wet her short hair, and take the machine razor and put her backside of the hair and shaved cleanly, her bald plait is coming, she continues her shaving process, all the part right and left side and finally front side, and Renuka is completely bald now, her beautiful hair is in floor. she look her face in the mirror, she won't believe, she is look like an monk with bald head. Then the beautician apply shaving cream in her head and again she shaved her head with knife cleanly. Other 2 mins her head is very shining. Beautician said, mam "your headshave is finish, you want anything", renuka replied, "ok that's fine", then she asking her hair, beautician called the other girl and take some hair from the floor and pack and given to renuka, she also did the same. Then they paid the about to reception, and everybody in the reception looking Renuka surprisingly, because young girl comes with clean shaven head from the parlor, but renuka is not worry about that. Finally they came to house, lakshmi aunty is looking renuka and said, "Renu you are very beautiful with out the hair, this is inspired my headshave, so I don't worry about my headshave", renuka said "aunty don't worry hair will grow some time, this is the religious vow" and she gave the bag to lakshmi and said "this is my hair, please put it in tirumala behalf of me", she said, "no problem renu, this is my pleasure". Then she asked about her child, she said, "baby is sleep well", then lakshmi leave the place, and renu went for her bath. Next day everybody in the flat seen Renuka with bald look surprising and shocked,

My Headshave

  My friend Vidya had a vow to shave her head in Tirumala. She told to give her company in her trip. One day she requested me to shave my head also along with her. I could answer her. At last she convinced me. This was my first head shave from my childhood. I wanted to get this new experience.

      I and my friend Vidya started on 15/12/09 from Hyderabad. next day morning we reached Tirumala. We had arranged cottage accommodation for us in advance. So we went straight to the cottage. I had been looking forward to this experience for a long time and I wanted to get tonsured as soon as possible. So I explored the possibility of going to the Kalyanakatta right away and getting tonsured. Reluctantly, I had to postpone the idea till the next day because we were very tired.

      I could hardly sleep through the night. I was excited at the thought of the straight razor playing on my head early next day! I was wide awake by 4 am. After brushing our teeth, my friend asked me to get ready. Then my friend without talking anything got ready. Then I wore a salwar kameez. We left for the Kalyanakatta by around 6 am. 

     There was a big crowd in front of the Kalyanakatta entrance and I thought this was going to take awhile. But as soon as we got into the Q, we moved up front quite quickly. We went to next step there a man giving half blades to everyone who got the tokens. He asked me are for gundu as I am looking posh. I felt some shy and told yes, and then he gave me a half blade 

After taking the token and blade for the tonsure, we entered the hall. There were a lot of barbers doing their stuff. I got into one line. There were around 5-6 people in front of me. That meant around 15-20 minutes wait. I was keenly observing the tonsuring of the people in front of me and my excitement mounted.

      First my friend sat in front of him. I concentrated on my friend’s tonsure. With a smile she bent her head to the barber offering her wet bob cut hairs with some brown in it. He started from the front and the first cut brought a kind of joy in her face which is difficult to forget. Then my friend shaved their heads my friend was looking so beautiful. She simply laughed at me. 

I was nervous because next was my turn. Then I sat in front of him and I covered my laps with towels that dress would not spoil. Like others, he wetted my waist length hair with a mug of water and massaged it vigorously for a minute and everything was very new to me. He tied my hair into two loose knots on both sides. My head now was totally wet with water and water droplets were falling on my shoulders, back, neck and on the towel below. I could see nothing but the ground. I was shivering with cold water. He put the new blade he had collected from me (issued at the counter) into his razor, bent my head fully down and made the first scrape at my nape. Oh! What a sensation! I could hear the scrape-scrape on the back of my head - top to bottom. Immediately, I could feel the coolness of the air on my scalp. I could feel wet tufts of my hair falling on my back and neck. In one minute, the back of my head was totally bald! The barber lifted my head slightly and adjusted it to get the correct angle so that he could start on the front. He started from the top of my head towards the front...scrape-scrape....Then he drew a patch from the crown to my forehead. Then he tilted my head to my left and shaved off the hair on my right. I could see Vidya who also bald smiling at my half tonsured head. I also smiled at her. He then started shaving my left side. He passed the blade all over once again making my head very smooth. 

      I got up caressing my bald head with both hands. I gave the barber Rs.10 extra for shaving me smooth. He was happy and offered me a mirror to see. I was anxious to see my face and when I saw it I was shocked to recognize myself. I was so different, a totally new bald look. Then I removed all the hair on my legs and touched my head for a while. We reached the guest house. I immediately ran in front of the mirror to see how I look. I had seen me in mirror my look was totally changed in GUNDU. But nothing can be done now, so I consoled myself. Vidya consoled me saying that I’ve given my hair to god and so there is nothing to feel ugly.

      Later during bath I rubbed my hands all over the rough and freshly shave scalp. It’s a very nice experience!! Later after drying the scalp I applied some sandal to keep my scalp cool. It really kept me cool from that rough shaving. Later in the day I applied coconut oil all over to make my scalp smooth. I started counting days for that day itself eager to wear a pony. 

Next day we had a good darshan of the lord. I prayed the lord that because u has taken my beautiful, long and smooth hair u should take care of me in troubles of life.

Luckiest Indian Man

Hai I am pradeep. My wife name is bhanu , she has very long hair that reaches bottom of her butt and it so thick  that is if she make a bun means she don’t need the pillow for bed that much thick and long. I am a hair fetish and my dream is to see my wife with short hair like boys hairstyle. But I didn’t said this dream to her, usually she allows me to trim her hair for six months once that also less than one inch. But I often ask bhanu to cut her hair short but she refuses that. This hurts me a lot. I thought my dream would not come true.

      After some weeks later bhanu sister-in-law came to our home and said she has some project work and she needs to stay in our house for one month, hearing this I and bhanu accepted that happily. Her name was seema. Seema was a young girl with slim figure and her attracted things are especially her hair that reaches top of her butt. Two days later bhanu and seema had a small fight in political news and they both planned to ask me the correct answer. Before that they both bet themselves, the bet is the loser wants to do the thing s that the winner says for one week. Finally they both asked me the question and I said the correct answer.

      Unfortunately seema had lost the bet so seema wants to obey bhanu whatever she says for one week. At that night I got an idea and said to bhanu that I want to cut a long hair but you refuse that, so I want to cut seema hair for short. On hearing this bhanu asked how seema will accept for that, I said to bhanu about the bet. By a long thinking bhanu accepted my idea. On next morning as holiday bhanu called seema and said that her husband will cut her long hair for losing the bet. Seema thought that bhanu is saying that just for fun so she accepted that and came nearer to me and asks me to cut small amount of hair.

      Then I removed the jasmine flowers seema long braid and also removed her hair band and opened the braid. It looks in wavy pattern because of braid, and then I brush her hair thoroughly and took he scissors and just trimmed the ends. By seeing this bhanu said to me that she asks cut and not to trim.
