Before Rennee, four girls donated hair by
getting their long hair styled into boy cuts. Ramya and Chandika Ganesh, third
year students, were the first to contribute 12 inches of hair each. "I
always had shoulder length hair. I loved the cause the minute I heard of it and
decided to grow my hair and contribute," said Ramya. "I look so much
smarter after the hair cut," she said.
On World Cancer Day, February 4, more than 100
women, including students, parents and teachers of WCC, donated their hair and
another 200 have registered for the initiative. The girls plan to promote it in
other colleges.
